How To Stay Positive – Part One

• Find the optimistic viewpoint in a negative situation

One of the simplest ways to build a more positive outlook is to ask more helpful questions as often as possible. If you’ve experienced a negative situation, ask yourself what’s the positive side of the whole thing, what have I learnt, what opportunity did I have?

• Live in a positive environment

Who you choose to spend your time with and the input you get form further away like the TV, Internet and magazines will have a huge effect on your outlook. Ask yourself what are the three most negative sources of information you spend time on. Consider the answers and then start spending less time checking out those sources.

• Go slowly

Experience has shown that things don’t go too well when you try to think, talk, eat and move around the world really quickly. Stress will build up and negative thoughts will start coming to your mind. Take a minute, slow down and let your mind and body calm down. It will become easier to think more clearly and finding an optimistic and constructive perspective will become a piece of cake.
